Ok, I just upgraded to Windows XP (Was bored one day and had just had to re-install 2000). Anyway, I have a bunch of old avi files which use the mpeg4 v3 codec which is now not supported.
For version 6.4 and 7.1 this was easily fixed by replacing the dll with an older one that did still support them. This does not work for version 8. What's more I don't have the option of removing 8 and replacing it with 7.1.
So now I'm searching for a way to make version 8 play these avis. Any ideas? Currently I am simply using 6.4 to play them but I'd like to use version 8 to play them if possible.
