    some weird behavior

    hi all
this is something weird that happened after a system crash.
    1) I cannot watch anymore asf and wmv files with BSPlayer or WMP6.4, since I get a grey or black screen, or upsidedown image. only WMP8 still works.
    2) the audio of divx files and mp3 files is extremely low, I have checked the volume of system panel and it is at maximum. I can easely hear audio cds, but cannot hear well some videos...I have to process them with virtualdub at 900% to hear them (and they suck a little bit afterwards)
    3) I do have the codec installed (checked with the §GSPot,) but I still see sometimes for some videos big cubes and the image that is kind of fuzzy or slow to adabt when the scene change...you see big shadows
does any one have some clue?
    thanx a lot

Just as a general concept, you might try reinstalling DirectX...

about the volume issue, You might want to make sure that the windows volume controls are all set to maximum.
              Control panel->Sound and multimedia->Sound devices->Volume
Options->Settings make sure all sound-outputs are marked in the list and press ok.
Raise all Wave Mp3 and Master and other appropriate controls to max. and try again...
              - The question is: Why?

                thanks for trying
but what you suggested I already checked twice before posting.
all the problem are still unsolved, really weird behavior in my humble opinion
                thanx

Uninstall any codecs and/or codec "packs" that you had installed prior to your crash - Then reinstall ONLY those codecs that you specifically NEED for proper playback...

If you experience problems in allocating all the codecs you have
installed you also might try the codec sniper that comes with
                    the tsunami filter pack.

                    good luck.
