How to create my own subtitle for a divx movie!?

Hi there!
I got hold on a russian divx film called "Zvezda", but haven´t had the luck to find any subtitles for it anywhere, so I got this crazy idea to translated it myself.........ya know what you might be thinking, but even so:

Does anyone know what software to use for this??? Have crwled the web thin in search for a subtitle creation tool, no luck so far!

or

easier does anyone know where I might get hold off the subtitles for it.......

Look for Sub-Edit player.
I think it's a polish tool, but available in many languages, including english.

subtitle creation tool which is fast, simple and efficent to use.

It is capable of creating most subtitle standarts for use with divx.

I have tested it when I did some additional subtitles for the lord of the rings. (those nerdy releasers forgot to translate a few sindarin dialougues and all of the quenya spells..)
