    hooking up Home DVD to PC

    g'day people...
    i was wondering if there is any way of hooking up my home dvd player to my pc... ya know.. just for the heck of it!
    Im pretty sure there's a way... but i just don't know what connector to use... Serial ,paralelle ,USB...
    Unfortunatly i do not have video out on my video card but i don't think i would need it anyway...

    I doubt it can be done easily. Tried it once but all I got was some black and white picture on my PC due to the macrovision protection. Unless you have some de-macrovision thing and a video-in or otherwise, it's not really possible.

        what you at least need is a video in
        either in your tv card or digital video card.
        may it be composite or svideo.

        I don ´t think that you have a digital video and audio out on your DVD stand alone, do you?

        any video capture card with an s-video line in would do the job.

        or a tv card with s-video in

        e.g.Haupauge ,Pinnacle, (Miro) , tevion


        the macrovision protection can sometimes
        be disabled on some DVD standalone
        players. search the internet for your model!
