Shiny - I think you have a real mental condition. Really I do. I've never seen such strange posts from anyone ever!

Easier Way - cool my Aunty and uncle are from Warrent Point, Rostrevor to be exact.

Shiny3..,Not quite sure what you mean there.

Re svhs and scart, no-one had any info so I went to maplins to buy a rgb scart to svhs converter and was surprised to see it going for gbp40 .. a good price I thought, went to the counter and they wanted gbp70 as the new prices only start on 1st of september.. they wouldn't give me one....

Re tv reception a motorised dish is not very expensive and gives great flexibility. Pointing SE I got PTV, mentioned earlier, must have been a feed...and to the SW got mexican tv feeds showing US football (not compatible with non US viewers). Pity the mainstream stuff is rehashed rubbish.

'Sky' is cr*p, Film4 is going down the tube fast. I'm going to get a non 'sky' digital box to see what is out in the real non Murdock world.
Any idea what shiny was on about?

I bought a KEEN ELECTRONICS rgb scart to svhs converter and it is excellent. The live picture on the pc is a little better than composite or rf but the quality difference on a capture is really significant. There is almost no banding or any edge artefacts, it is very good.

I hope you get what you pay for. Remember what it means when sky say "we are bringing you xyz". It is off the air somewhere else where it used to be free.
You don't buy the new Manchester United shirt every 6 weeks do you?

I buy the new Manchester United shirt at every oportunity (ie every new one) - it supports the club. Also, since Sky own a big chunk of Man Utd, its prosperity can only be good for us

Did you ever own the grotesque MU rain coat with the huge Vs on the back?, only for real fans. I do not have any sport packages. What is sad is that I haven't cancelled my Film4 sub.
