Wierd Audio Prob

i burned a movie onto dvd-r the movie played perfect upto about 45 min then the audio on the film changed the audio i was listening to acually belongs at the beginning of the film. audio and video sinc was perfect up to that point. any help would be great.
in case this helps the film was ghost ship

the original source was avi which played no problem.
converted file to mpeg then on to disc didnt check mpeg though. had this problem before with a disney movie source file was ok but when put on disc the audio was the same as the last film.

1) Load the original .AVI video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box


Also, what software and procedures did you use to convert the .AVI?

used tmpge to convert the avi then used tmpge dvd to convertthe mpeg into vob ect ie video ts folder. the disney film and ghost ship seems to be the 2 movies it happens. done another movie this morning (avi file ) no probs what so ever. kinda strange.

virtual dub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source avi and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values for better compatability.This mayintroduce upto 8659ms of skew from video stream ????. (file info below)

Converting .AVIs with VBR-MP3 Audio for use with TMPGEnc

Simply use NanDub or VirtualDubMOD (Different than standard VirtualDub), to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file as follows:
1) Load your original .AVI into NanDub

2)Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"

3) Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode" (NanDub only -For VirtualDubMOD>"Streams>"Stream list">>rightclick on the listed audiostream and then select "Full Processing Mode")
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" and choose "No compression(PCM)" (NanDub only - For VirtualDubMOD>"Streams>"Stream list">>rightclick on the listed audiostream and then select "Compression" and choose "No compression(PCM)")

4) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save WAV" (Enter a new filename with a ".WAV" extender).Click on "OK"

5) Then save the .AVI as a silent .AVI (NanDub - set "Audio" to "No audio" after you've saved the WAV file. - For VirtualDubMOD>"Streams>"Stream list">>click on the listed audiostream and then select "Disable").

6) Open TMPGEnc and FIRST "drag and drop" the silent .AVI onto it, then do the same with the .WAV file.

got silent avi but nandub only extracts 3 seconds of audio(wave)

I have absolutely no idea what could possibly cause that to happen if, as you've stated, the audio plays properly throughout the .AVI.

Try the following:

1) Load the .AVI into NanDub. Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy". Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode". From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression" and choose "No compression(PCM)"

2) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, click on "Set selection start"

3) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, click on "Move to end"

4) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, click on "Set selection end"

5) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "Save WAV" (Enter a new filename with a ".WAV" extender).Click on "OK"

trying to extract audio with goldwave see how that gos checked avi again its deffinetly ok

Although I'm not 100% certain, I don't believe GoldWave will convert it from VBR to CBR. If this proves to be the case (that it's still VBR), do try what I've just suggested - or try VirtualDubMOD (different than VirtualDub)...

got audio extracted using your 2nd suggestion loaded them both into tmpge all i can do now is wait about 4 hours to see what happens. keep u posted about the outcome
