    xvid

    Hey folks.

I've got a small problem with a xvid movie I've got on my computer. After watching about 40-50 minutes of the film the screen all of a sudden good all black for about 2-3 seconds then the picture returns but is really fussy, it's impossible to watch. Then when I exit media player I get an exception error in ntdll.dll
If I then reopen the film and skip to the part where I had the problem before the picture is fine, but then I watch for 10-20 seconds and the same thing happens again. Was wondering if anyone else has had that problem ? Any fix ?

Which player are you using? Use VirtualDub to scan video stream for errors.

Try reinstalling the XViD codec or use FFDShow instead...

        Thanks for your reply.

After scanning the movie using Virtualdub I got 903 frames masked, 17 frames bad, 886 frames good but undecodeable. I also received an error message "An out of bound memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'lameACM' "

Obviously something is wrong but is there some way to fix this ?

        Thanks in advance.

it sounds to me that while putting that movie on your harddisk
some vital information in this avifile has been lost.

in case you downloaded it redownload it completely!!!!
this good frames but unable to decode often happens with
avimovies obtained with emule or bittorrent.

my advice would be redownload it or to fix the movie with video fixer (see softwaresection of this site). note that the unreadable
          parts will be removed......
