    Virtual Dub Filter help

    Hallo everybody.
I'm just looking for a filter for Virtual Dub to 'frame' a clip with a colored border, exactly the opposite function available in 'fill' filter, built-in in Virtual dub, which create a rectangne in the clip.
I do not have to resize the clip, just apply the frame border on.

If anyone solved this problem ... let me know

    Thank you a lot.

You can use the resize filter. Just use the same dimentions as your origional clip. And then click "expand frame and letter box image". And the new frame dimentions and pick your color. The video clip will stay the same size but there will be a frame around it. The only way I know. You'll have to full process it though, compress it again etc.

      idea

      Thank you tomnhanni,
I tried your tip with success! It works.
In the meantime I had to do another filter process, and I used a special way to use the 'fill' filter.

For anyone can be helped, I'll explain:
The problem was to overlap two black bars (top and bottom) to hide the noisy capture of a VHS tape.
I added twice the FILL filter, one with the top slide moved up to near to the bottom and the second with the lower slide rised near to the top. Black color selected.
Do a preview and process. Enjoy!
With this 'clean' black borders, the bitrate lost in the black bars is near to 0, if you recompress in mpeg-1 or mpeg-2.

      Ciao
