    my mpeg went from 2.3 gb to 5.9????

    hi all

    i am in need of some help again,

    i got a 2.3 gb mpg of a dvd movie,

    know when i went to use tmpegc author its reading out in the lilttle box that its in "pal" format

    so i ran it threw mainconcept mpeg encode and it made a 5.9 gb
    mpeg????

    i hope i am explaining my self correctly

    just ask if anyone don't understand

    how do i make it so it fits onto a dvd-r

    You probably had the video set to CBR instead of VBR

        I'm not familiar with mainconcept i'm afraid.
        Have a shot at TMPGEnc encoder (not TMPGEnc Author) and just use one of the PAL DVD templates. It should encode sound and video to 4.3Gb (DVD-R)

          If all else fails, let "TMPGEnc DVD Author" create the 5.9Gigs DVD "package" on your hard drive and then use DVD Shrink to compress it to under 4.37Gigs...

            Good suggestion.
            When TPMGEnc complains that the 5.9Gb will not fit on a DVD-R, just aggree to the warnings and continue. Then use DVDShrink like setarip suggested.
