    playing media file in Mac

How can i convert VCD .dat file into playable format to be played in Mac OS? Please advise the software required needed to do this. How can i also cut-out certain scenes from the VCD?

    Thank you

These are primarily (almost exclusively) PC-oriented forums. You'd probably fare better at the 3IVX forum, or similar MAC-specific forums...

Now that I think about it, you could convert the VCD to an .AVI file using the 3IVX codec, which is a cross-platform (PC and MAC) video codec...

as soon as the moviefile is a vcd an apple should be able to read
it because vcd is a normal cd standart.....
for playing back such files on macintosh apple I recommend the MPLAYER for apple OSX.....
