Based on what you've described, you're burning either VCDs (MPEG-1VideoCDs) or SVCDs (MPEG-2SuperVideoCDs).
If your standalone player is capable of playing either or both formats and is willing to recognize the brand of CD-R you're using, it will be "smart" enough to figure out how to play it all by itself - You'll just have to press the "Play" button... -
I said, "You'll just have to press the "Play" button..."
You said, "I do know where the play button is thank you"
Did I say you DIDN'T know where the play button is?
You said, "if I wanted a smart ass remark or anwser I would of asked for one"
Actually I thought I was being extremely gentle in responding to you, since it was apparent based on your question that you know extremely little about video formats.

CeCe....the folders you see are what anyone sees when he clicks on a VCD, SVCD or DVD without playing them on a PC. They are normal...and the DVD Player reads the information inside and plays them if it's capable. Without documentation for your stand-alone DVD Player attached to your TV, the fastest way to check if it will play your format is to try it.Comment

CeCeRyder... I dont know how you thought setarip was being a smart ass but he was correct in his reply. It does sound like you are trying to burn either VCD's and/or SVCD's. I myself have a fair bit of experience with these so if you are still having problems and if setarip (understandbly) wont reply then i can give you a hand. First of all you MUST check that your DVD Player is compatable with the VCD/SVCD Formats. Like rsquirell noted, it is difficult sometimes if you dont have documention with the player and you are left with testing the formats, however you could go through quite a few cd's to achieve this.
However there are other ways of finding out.
1. The dvd player itself - does it say VCD or SVCD on the front panel of the player. Most dvd players I have seen usually have the formats to which they are compatible with printed on them. However I do have a friend whos dvd player never mentions vcd/svcd in any of the documention or the panel and still plays all my burnt movies perfectly, so if it doesnt say it, dont lose faith, it still may play them
2. Check out this website: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers.php
there is a fairly comprehensive list of players there describing their formats and other specs. Check that page out.
3. Burn a vcd using nero's wizard. all you should have to do is follow the on screen steps. add a suitable video file and nero will be able to arrange the folders and file itself.
