    Broken Divx, how to fix?!

Hi. Have been experimenting with video capturing for a while now, testing various codecs. My problem? Well, i was capturing for about 8 minutes using divx alpha 3.11 codecs, and the computer crashed, after a reboot i tried to watch the captured video but it seems to be brooken. No player can play the file. Have tried various programs to fix the file but all of the progs tested reported "no avi file" or something like that. Virtualdub reports "Cannot determine filetype of ..... .avi". Can anyone help me sort this out?

you could check the damaged file with gspot....
if gspot does not recognize it try to play your file with the videolanclient.... or try to repair it with the video fixer ....

check the softwaresection of this site....to get that stuff.. if all this fails I assume some essential information of your file got lost duringthe crash
and it can not be restored.....

by the way I would use the xvid codec for capuring....

Tried Gspot, couldn't read the file, did'nt recognize it. Tried almost every fixer progg in the sw section. Recon the file is totally broken then. Learned my lesson, never use divx for capturing again. Thx for your replies.
