    Power Calibration Error

Hey guys, im having a bit of a problem with my dvd burner. I have a Pioneer a05 and have used it succesfully over 200 times up until now. I use Nero 5.5 to burn dvd's and it has worked great with my Meritline DVD-R's. Recently, i started recieving a "power calibration error" in nero, it happens 2/3 times, and when it does burn successfully, the movie plays about half way through and then i get a "disc read error" on the dvd player (playstation 2). I have changed nothing between these when it worked and when it didn't. I have tried upgrading the flash to 1.33, however this just caused a different error message 100% of the time and it would not burn. I flashed it back to 1.21 and am having the power calibration error still. I've tried different kinds of media with no avail, and im running out of ideas. I even tried Nero version 6, but when i was trying to burn that, the "burn" button was greyed out and it would not even let me start the process. Please let me know what to try as i am starting to fear that the drive itself is broken. Thanks for the help.

"have used it succesfully over 200 times up until now."

It may be time to run a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your burner. Maxell makes one that retails for approximately $10US...

Well, i tried another media, Sony. And i've burned 5 now without any problems, so it looks as though it might have been a media problem. Now im faced with another problem, which is finding media this quality in bulk. Does anyone know a good place to get sony dvd-r's in a spindle, or if theres another media brand comparable in quality for a cheap bulk price? Thanks.
