Arghhh TMPGENC AVI > DVD Help :(

Gawd, im really getting annoyed, i am trying to convert an AVI onto a dvd, i have converted it to MPEG-2 using TMPGEng, viewed the file - it looks great, loaded it into TMPGEng DVD Author, only to get a load of error messages

I've been trying to like 2 days now!

The error messages DVD Author gives me are:

    ---

The video resolution 480 x 480 cannot be used for a standard dvd

You can only use the following:

    352 x 240, 352 x 480, 720 x 480 (NTSC)
    352 x 288, 352 x 576, 720 x 576 (PAL)

    ---

The video framerate 29.97fps cannot be used with the resolution 480x480.

This frame rate can only be used with the following resolutions:

    352x240, 352x480, 704x480, 720x480 (NTSC Only)

    ---

The video GOB is too long.

    ----

    I am totally confused!!!

I have included the gspot info on the avi file, can anybody advise me what i am doing wrong when encoding??

The only thing i can think of is that i am going into clipframe in advanced, and changing the arrange method to "full screen - keep aspect ratio" so it looks a a bit more in proportion rather than having it stretched!!

Can anyone advise me exactly what i need to to with tmpgenc to get this working?

    Cheers,

    Jonathan

480x480 is the res used by S-VCD and it is not compatable with DVD.

I dont use TMPGEng so I dont know how it works but i'm sure theres options to change the encoded reselution some place. Take the original AVI and encode it to MPEG-2 using one of the valid DVD reselutions and that should as far as I can see solve the problem.
