    Dropping frames

Dear All. When I try to capture Hi8 video from my camcorder I get this problem of dropped frames. Premier and VirtualDub report dropped frames. WinProducer as usual does not say anything, but I suspect that it also drops frames. I have an Aopen Aeolus TI4200 video card for capturing. What should I do? Help is greatly welcome. Thanks.

Try using a lossless video codec, such as HuffyUV and Uncompressed PCM (.WAV) audio, for capturing. Although this will initially create a significantly larger file than using a DivX (or other highly compressive codec), you can always compress the resultant captured video afterwards, using VirtualDub or similar...
