is it worth going commercial?

When reauthoring dvd (mpeg2) in shrink2.3 by removing the widescreen, I loose the flashy intros and menus.

IM aware there are a few shareware programs out there that would allow me to do this, but with so many programs and so little time, due to not having internet at home, I was hoping if anyone here might be able to help out by briefly jotting down which shareware programs I need (and what its used for in biref), will need to do the above..


Getting back to the topic, do commercial programs offer an all in one solution to reauthor and keep intros and menus?

Also, is the compression algorythem superior to dvd shrink when encoding dvd9 to dvd5?
