    I'm looking for a rare codec.

    I've got several AVI files, which are compresed with the 'PIXL' codec.

    It's a Pinnacle/Miro codec, but it's not available for download on their homepage.

    Does anyone know, where I can get this codec???

    You might try substituting an MJPEG codec...

      downloading studio 8 or pinnacle pctv should provide
      you with the codec instances you are looking for..... of course they are not registered to be used by other programs.....

      you will find the codec locked....if you try to alter its preferences...

        @setarip:
        Which MJPEG codec is compatible? Or doesn't that matter???
        Then, if I have such a codec installed, change the FourCC in the AVI to the new one with a Hexeditor???

        @ shiny#3
        I already downloaded PCTV. Now I can watch them, but not edit or convert. Studio 8 costs $79...
        ...and as you already said, the codec is not registered for other programs...

          I don't think it should make a difference as to which MJPEG codec. You could also use one of the several FOURCC changer programs (or a hex editor, of course).

          (Do keep in mind that this is speculation on my part)
