MPG-file problem

Hi there. I'm completely new to this.

I just downloaded a 20 MB mpg file on my Mac and I cannot open it at all.
Quicktime simply refuses!!

I browsed through this site for a while and found a few codecs that I downloaded: 3ivx_Delta_3.5. and DivX 4.11 for Mac, but it still doesn't work.

Is there any other codec I need to download to make this work ?
I cannot seem to find any other codec for Macintosh computers. At least not on this site.


Is there possibly a converter or something that can convert this file to .avi, or .mov or something ?

I found nothing but converts for PC's on this site.
