baisically whats happening is that i download divx movies, i cut them into two using Virtual dub 1.4, i encode them using TMEPGEnc, and then i make tem into video cds using Nero. This worked fine for a while, but recently whenever i do this and go to play the movies in my dvd player the movies seems to "re-adjust" to fit perfictly into the TV screen. So baisically, if i have a widescreen movie, it the image becomes stretched and fills up the whole screen. why is this happening???:
no widescreen

How did you determine that they are widescreen videos? If you played them in Windows Media Player, it will add black bars top and bottom to a widescreen video that has had these cropped off! If, in fact, this is the case, when you load the video into TMPGEnc (and move the slider a bit to the right, in order to get to a meaninful image) you won't see upper and lower black bars.
Be good enough to advise if this is the case ;>} -
I'm curious to know (as I indicated in my initial response):
