What is the best way to get a TV show from the TV to my computer and make it an AVI (Divx) file with the absolute highest sound/picture quality and resolution? Any help at all is appreciated.

First you need a capture card in order to capture the show from TV into your computer. -

You can also use external hardware devices like the Pinnacle DVC-150 or Canopus. Each card/device comes with it's own recommended software...and has its own idiocentric quirks.Comment
