ATI All In Wonder 9600 for capturing

Does anyone know the capturing quality for the ATI All In Wonder 9600 Pro board for both DV and analog capturing? And does it do hardware rendering? That is, does it have a mpeg 2 encoder chip on it's board? Is this board worth it?

Or would it be better to just get a dedcated board for video capturing?

You capture DV thru the firewire...you don't need a board or device for that. Most editing software recognizes DV devices...VirtualDub is freeware that can be found here. ULead VS7 and Pinnacle Studio8 will convert DV capture (AVI) to MPEG2 on the fly (smaller file sizes). You need the board (or external hardware) to capture the lower resolution VHS tapes.

Thanks I understand what you mean about the DV capture. Since I will also be doing analog captures, I wanted to know if the ATI All In Wonder 9600 Pro is a good card for analog captures.
