I'll try to keep this concise. BTW, did a search here, but didn't find the answer to what I'm looking for.
I downloaded a bittorrent file for Third Watch but was unable to see anything, just heard audio. The error message was a codec one. I then installed an XviD codec in order to be able to watch it on WMP. That made it possible to view it, however the audio and video are out of sync pretty badly. Another forum suggested I install VirtualDub to fix that problem. I did and tried to run my file (third.watch.505.hdtv-lol) with it, but got the following message:
Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown)
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable.
Can anyone help on this one? Thank you!
