Kernel32.dll keeps crashing Flask...WHY? Need assistance

This is the first time this has ever happened and I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why. I've been using FlasK MPEG 0594 with no problem until now. i've cleaned up my pc using norton ult. and fixed numerous active X errors, ran disk doctor, & defragged my pc. nothing has worked yet. I noticed once i start to convert my VOB file a windows error pops up saying:
" A kernel32.dll error has occured. Flask will now shut down"

Any help on this would be most appreciated. I'm in a time crunch trying to finish up my AMV and I still have several dvd's that i still need to convert so i can use specific scenes for my AMV.

Have u tried dooing a fresh install of flask ?.

The problem could be that the chop & resize, or some other setting have been corrupted, delete your flask folder and install again.

Nope, that didn't work. I'm trying to reinstall direct X again and see if that will work

Have you installed org vorbis, or lame ACM codec recently ?
For some reason flask don't work if they are installed on the system, I can't explain why.

No, i haven't installed any new codecs.

Does this happen with more than one movie ?

Try disabling audio, by selecting 'Don't process audio' in the global project option audio tab.
That way, you will at least know if it's audio or video problem.

Try upgrading to flask0.6 with the subtitles fix

you were right. i looked in flask to look at the audio codecs and i had some funky codecs that i've never seen before:

CCITT A-LAW
CCITT u-Law
GSM 6.10
MICROSOFT ADPCM
VOXWARE Metasound

flask did work once i told it to "don't decode audio" so it's an audio conflict. how in the world do get rid of these other codecs. in the past, flask only had PCM and mpeg layer 3 and not all the others.
Another thing also, those extra audio codecs only appear every so often in flask. So how would i rid my system of these audio codecs so flask can start running right?

Found this article, will try it tonight and see if I can flask up and running again. Figured I'd go ahead and post this just in case anyone else has the same problem.

Removing a Specific Codec or MCI Device
To remove a specific codec or MCI device, follow these steps:
In Control Panel , double-click Multimedia .

Click the Advanced or the Devices tab.

To remove an audio codec, double-click Audio Compression Codecs , double-click the codec you want to remove, and then click Remove .

To remove a video codec, double-click Video Compression Codecs , double-click the codec you want to remove, and then click Remove .

To remove an MCI device, double-click Media Control Devices , double- click the device you want to remove, and then click Remove .
