    TMPGEnc

hi.. i am a complete noob, but i have done some research..

i recieved this error message when tryng to convert a Xvid video using TMPGnc..

"the error occurred when AMC was initialized"

i then configured my envirmental settings
so that my directshow multimedia file reader has the priority of 2.

    any ideas of the problem?

    thanks

    1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

in tmpgenc, i used NTSC Flim, since my video is 23.976fps.
and i even seperated my audio into a wav file using virtual dub.

      thank you

Do you have an .AC3 filter/codec installed on your system ("unknown tag 2000" is indicative of an .AC3 audiostream)? If not, download and install one...

(If you have WinDVD installed on your system, use "DVD Genie" to register WinDVD's filters to Windows instead of downloading a filter/codec)

i am not sure what i am suppose to select here, but i did fool around with it. i, as you can see, selected the reigon and marked some of the selections below; then it apply. Nothing seemed to have work, that i believe.

when i click on "WinDVD version", it displays "not found".
            this is my WinDVD information.

            thanks

Click on the "More Options" radio button. This will open a "page" to the left. On it you'll see an option to "Register WinDVD's filters to Windows"...

Did you obtain your copy of WinDVD by "other-than-purchase"?

yes, i am using a ripped version.

however, it shouldnt make a difference if it's a fully registered product, no?

if so, is there any way of getting around it, so i can get TMPGEnc to work.

There are myriad DEFECTIVE pirated programs "floating around" - many of which include viruses, etc.
