Distorted screen while playing divx file on media player

i have a divx file with the following properties obtained from virtualdub
fourcc code:div3
decompresser divx mpeg-4 low motion

before i was able to play the file with no problem, but now when i open the file using media player the screen is distorted. it has three movie playing parts and one pink part. i don't know what is causing the problem. i reinstall the codecs using ace codec pack, nothing has changed.
if anyone knows a solution, i'd be happy to hear.

Try using FFDShow as the decoder instead.

If you mean installing Ffdshow, I already did. But not having Ffdshow usually causes the problem of green screen while playing divx files. In my case, instead of a green screen I have a splitted screen (if you think of the movie as 1-2-3 parts next to each other, in my case it is like 2-1-3 or something like that) and one of the parts is pink.
I can view the file using divx player or winamp with no problem, but I cannot use windows media player or windvd which provides better sound quality.
Is there any program that causes a conflict with div3?

Have you had a Windows Update for WMP?
