    Ripping Bruce Almighty for Backup

I have a poser....I am trying to rip Bruce Almighty DVD to my hard disk. I have used ClanDVD XP to rip the VOB, IFO and BUP files to my hard disk. When I double click on one of the IFO files WinDVD (platinum edition) won't play it back. I just get WinDVD's blue welcome screen and clicking PLAY does nothing. Does anyone know why? Also the length of all files is a smidgen over 5GB and that means it cannot be burned to a DVD-R is that correct? Also be advised that in ClanDVD I selected only the movie files NOT the whole DVD.

    Help please?

You'd need "all files" if you were contemplating backing it up.
By being 5Gb the original is probably dual layer. DVD-R at present are only single layer, hence a limit of around 4.37Gb. DVD Shrink should compress it easily to fit a DVD±R/RW
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

You also need to have ripped ALL files (not just "movie files") if you want WinDVD to be able to playback "as DVD"...
