    Audio compression to DVD movies?

Is there any way to extraxt audio from DVD movies...? So I might have the option to convert to mp3?
Even if I get to this stage, how would I place this in to the video folder?

If you're asking if it's ultimately possible to replace a compliant (.MP2, .AC3, .DTS, LPCM) DVD audiostream with an .MP3 audiostream, the answer is, "No"...

      Thanks Setarib.

How about ripping audio files? What program would I need to do this?

      Cheers.

If you merely wanted to get a separate audio file you could decrypt/shrink to hard drive, then use VirtualDubMod or similar to output the sound only to a new file.
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

You can use DVD Audio Ripper to rip only DVD audio. It can extract DVD sound tracks and save as MP3 or WAV. Also supports ripping by chapter, certain time or file size. See here www.imtoo.com
