    Need HElp!Movie does not play!

I am new to this DivX stuff and really need help!!! I got an avi movie. I tried to view it on on one NT4 computer, but the image was very distorted. On a W2K computer, the file just opens and even though the time bar is scrolling, and i can hear the audio stream progressing normally, the image stays fixed on the first frame! I have tried virtualdubmod. I can scroll through the movie with the timeframe keys, but i can not play the movie, but the sound stream sounds just fine!!!
Any ideas anyone! I just don't understand it!
    Please HELP!!!

Can you post the file information (obtained via Virtualdubmod's File Information utility) here?

VirtualDubMod will give us details of codec and compression types of your video and audio streams.
We can then tell you what's wrong in all probability

Alas I am still a newbie with this confusing codec malarky but this vdub printout seems to be the key factor in most of peoples unplayable movies threads.
What applications have you tried running this in, WinDVD, PowerDVD, WMP9 or other?

i tried Windows media 9, zoom player, sasami and quicktime pro 6
as i said, it worked with zoom player on NT4 but the image was all broken up, with sometimes green and pink fields.

Not to belabor the obvious...but do you have the DivX Pro 5.02 Codec downloaded and installed on your machine?

I have all the codecs that exist and then some!!! To be specific, i have the DivX PRo 5.02, the nemo codepack, and almost every other codec that i come across. They do not seem to interfere with eachother as almost all my other movies work without problems!

As long as you have it in VirtualDubMod...why not select direct stream copy, check the video stream for errors and save it with a new filename and see if that plays.
