Newbie VHS to PC to CD

I am new to this whole concept and was wondering if I could get some help.

My wife wants some videos put on CD. I have a CD burner, 40gigs of Hard Drive space and Uleads USB Instant video CD.

How do I get the best quality of CD so that we can watch it on our DVD-CD-R/RW player?

You can start by reading the thousands of other posts asking the same thing in this forum (type VHS into the search engine.) Basically you need a capture card or external hardware capture device plus...software to capture, process and burn with.
