    PowerDVD 2.0 + WinXP

I'm having problems running PowerDVD 2.0 on WinXP. I've been to the PowerDVD website, and it says version 2.0 does not work in XP.

I've been going through my choices, but is the only choice to go and buy another DVD Player??

PowerDVD worked fine on my other machine which ran on WinME, I just needed to install it on my new machine because I uninstalled a DVD/CD-R drive from my old PC to this new one. The Drive works perfectly, but I'm left without a DVD Player.

Any hints would be appreciated on how to get PowerDVD working...

    Thank you.

It appears that you already have an absolute answer - I believe PowerDVD is now up to v.5.0...

You shouldent have to buy a new player. PowerDVD 2.0 may no longer work under XP but if the installer still works and you can acctualy get the program installed theres no resion why using Windows Media Player, BSPlayer, or Zoom Player isn't an option as it's codecs should still be compatable under XP.

Realy though 2.0 is rather dated and an upgrade should probly still be recomended.

WinDVD is at version 5.3 and PowerDVD is at 5.0. nVDVD is a great alternative at the moment at version 2.55 but there is a beta version 3.0 in the hands of select testers at the moment and from what I here it's probly going to knock PowerDVD and WinDVD into the dirt once it's ready.
