DV editing

I have done some editing in school and and on random projects around NYC. I just bought a Mac G5 and Final Cut Pro 4 and want to start freelance editing. I feel confident in my editing skills but could use some advice from you editing pros out their on how to start out as a freelance DV editor. What equiment should invest in? How do I get clients? What problems may I run into as a newbie? Thank You to all who can help.
