    DVD+R won't play in Panasonic RP-62

If this is an oft repeated topic, please bear with me as my search of the forum did not reveal any ready answer to my problem.
I am using DVDShrink 2.3, TDK 420N DVD+R/+RW and Nero 6.0.0.19. I followed the excellent guides at dvdshrink.info and made two backups, one with 20% compression and another with no compression but in two parts (disks). I used the DVD-Video mode. The disk with compression was burned at 4X and the two without compression were burned at 2.4X. The newly burned dvds have both the VIDEO_TS folder with all the correct files and the empty AUDIO_TS folder.

Now here is the interesting part: the dvds play perfectly on the TDK or a Hitachi dvd-rom player using Powerdvd and also on my older non-progressive Panasonic A120 standalone player. However, the progressive scan Panasonic RP62 standalone player fails to recognize or load any of the DVD+R disks.

Is this problem specific to RP-62 and is there a solution?

    Tnaks in advance,

Did you check to see if the Panasonic standalone is compatible with (+R) media? Many older standalones are picky about certain types of media. You might try and use a (-R) disk as an experiment.

I own a Panasonic RP-56 and have tested both DVD-R and DVD-RW and both work flawlessly. Have not bothered with +R formats. I would recommend the DVD-RW from Memorex (mfg.id: RITEKW01..)
I know this doesn't answer your question but it is useful info. to have.

Experiment with different brands of media. I would suggest you try Ritek...

I tried a newly burned Maxell DVD+RW disk and no luck! The RP62 still didn't see it and the A120 had pixellation problems in the first chapter but not in the second chapter. I didn't check the entire disk.

It looks like the RP62 isn't compatible with plus media. In a classic case of "if all else fails...," I checked the RP62 manual and it claims compatibility with some but not all DVD-R (no DVD-RW or +R/RW). Iam waiting for a confirmation from Panasonic tech support.

Looks like I need to either replace the burner (from plus media only to dual format) or get a plus media compatible dvd player.
Shoot, I really liked my RP62!

Looks like DVD+R & DVD+RW are NOT supported on your player.
But DVD-R and DVD-RW should work fine.

Thanks. I figured as much. I just wish that I had checked the RP62 manual before I purchased the TDK 420N which can only burn +R/+RW.

Does anyone know the media compatibility of LG LST-3510A?
