    SUCCESS! PAL to NTSC

Around Christmas time my sister bought The Oklahoma (the play) DVD online. When the DVD arived she noticed that it was PAL and would not play on any of her DVD players.

I spent ALOT of hours researching ways to convert the video to NTSC. I never got a decent result with any of my attempts.

I ended up buying an inexpensive gadget that allows you to record Audio/Video on your hard drive through the USB port. It records 720X480 - 30 frames - MPEG4. It was like $50 on ebay and worth every penny.

I used one of my DVD players that played PAL and captured it onto my HD via S-Video. Then used Nero to Burn it to a DVD. The result was incredible!

Plus, Now I keep my satellite receiver hooked up to this gadget all the time. I can record Movies and burn them to DVD in a decent quality.

I realize I could have purchased a 2nd DVD in the NTSC format, but what fun would that have been?

    Just food for thought
