    Mini DV Recorder?

Is there a device out there thats made to be small, portable, and that has RCA or Coaxial in ports for the sole purpose of recording/capturing video? I want to get a helmet cam for my Mountain Biking but the camera requires a device to record what its seeing; and a camcorder is to big/expensive for me. Thanks.

If you want to record using a helmet cam onto a dv recording device, then your best bet would be to get a small dv camcorder to use as a vtr, and carry it in a belt pouch, that way, you could just use the video wires that come with the helmet cam to input to the camcorder. Camcorders are so small nowadays, that they'd be the best option for what you're wanting to do. If a dv camcorder is out of your budget, then the next step down would be one of the digital8 camcorders, which still record in the digital format. If my suggestion is out of your price range, then you might as well forget about your idea.
