media player and mp3 to vcd ?

for about 3 weeks I have been downloading, installing, comparing, and trying to get a movie an a cd using a cd burner, and a dvd rom. I cannot seem to grasp the final step. I have 2 movies on my hard drive after using divx (mp3 and windows media player) for the audio and video. However I for some reason can't generate a vcd...

Some of the hardware I have on my windows me are DIVX, DVDX, DUP DVD, NERO, Adaptec easy creator 4, Fusion Soft DVD player, Interactual player, and a few others.

If someone could help me on this I would greatly appreciate it.

ok i hope i understand you correct as you mentioned DIVX, DVD ROM, MP3 and VCD all together ......... Please forgive me if i sound basic but better to start off that way at first.

OK VCD's are made from MPEG media files and SVCD from MPEG 2 files, the divx files you have will need to be converted to MPEG if your wanting to create a VCD. You can do this with TMPGEnc and depening on the speed of your processor and size of the file it can take up to 6 hours to convert and longer. Your DVD Rom isnt needed appart from the normal functions of a ROM drive, watch DVD's with and Rip the VOB's (DVD media files) with. There are numerous tutorials written on the process involved to back up dvd's to VCD or DIVX so i wont re-hash other peoples work (check other peoples posts as well). Once converted to MPEG and provided the file will fit on a disc (if not you can use TMPGEnc to cut the file to size) you can use NERO to burn to VCD by selecting the VCD option, drag and drop the MPEG file and burn to CDR

    Hope this helps

    Cheers
