Black and white - No color

Ok, So when I play any movie file, be it Divx, Xvid, Mpeg, Asf, or a DVD the color is in black and white. I have tried re-installing every codec but it is to no avail. Does anyone have a solution?

Have you played it back on different media players? Same problem with all of them? Of course when you view .jpg files or use any other application you have color. Just with movies the problem occurs?

When you, for example, double click on a jpg file is there any delay in the color appearing? Do you see the jpg for a moment in B&W before it appears in color? Couldn't be a problem with your monitor, could it?

You've tried adjusting the color settings on your monitor, setting them to maximum? Some video cards allow you to output to a TV set (at reduced resolution.) If you could do that, you could see if there's color on the TV.
