    macrovision

    am new at this whole computer thing. i simply want to watch dvds on the screen. some play just fine but others aren't able to play and i get a "macrovision distribution failed" error message with no suggestions on how to rectify the problem. i have a hp pavillion - pentium 4 - 2.67 GHz - 512 MB of ram. any suggestions?

    what about video card? nvidia by any chance? if yes, what drivers version?

      Do a yahoo or google search for a macrovision hack for your card for tv/out (if the tv/out is the problem), if the monitor's viewing is the problem, you will need another (possibly) solution.

      P - 4 @ 1.7 Ghz, 768 mb (133) Ram, Intel 845 chipset M'board, Seagate 60 Gig., 5400 rpsm hdd, Maxtor 40 Gig. 7200 rpm hdd, Hauppauge 880 pvr card, etc.. O.S. - XP Home Edition.
