    .VID and .TS SAMSUNG Formats

I own a SAMSUNG SPVR 7400 CI , which is a Satellite Decoder with 2 common interface slots, to receive encrypted or not Satellite broadcasts. This machine has a 120 Gigs Hard DiskDrive, and enables to store the DVB flow as it is received from the Satellite.
There is also a USB2.0 link so that you can recover these files on your PC. And some software comes with the Receiver, to 'transform' these files (with a .VID extension) into .TS files.
It also comes with some "player" supposed to enable the repaly on your PC of these files. Which does NOT work...

    QUESTIONS:
1/ Does anyone know these formats ?

2/ could you help me with the appropriate player
or give me some entry point into SAMSUNG support ?

3/ How can these file formats be "massaged" into some form of standard video format ( MPEG2 most likeley as it is the base of the DVB satellite flow)

Since my question about .ts to AVI, i received a new decoder, namely a TOPFIELD 5000. image quality is superb, decoding is great. BUT the recording of the video stream is made in some format with the suffix .REC which replays VERY well ( absolutely identical to original) but does not seem to be a .TS file format, although topfield documentation let me believe it might emed a .TS file .

Any clue about this, how to recover th e.TS stream fom these .REC files ???
