don't know what I'm missing. I can play .mpg files perfectly but when I try to play .avi the sound goes out of synch.
Does anyone know why this happens?
Thx
they are entirely separate files and it happens with all the avi files i've played. I lowered the video quality of the player and it seems to be better but it still out of sync, wich is really annoying, i get to hear what happens before i see it

Open your problem AVI files in NanDub (a variant program of the regular Virtual Dub) and do the following:
1. Make sure both "Video" and "Audio" both are set to "Direct Stream Copy"
2. Go back to "Audio" and select "Interleaving" at the bottom you will see an option for "Audio Skew Correction" and enter a value to bring the audio back in synch
