Corrupt AVI? Is there a fix?

- Pinnacle Studio

Here's the problem:

I have a 2gb+ AVI that I downloaded off the DV camera using Pinnacle Studio. This just happens to be my WEDDING tape...and it won't open. Studio won't open it...neither will WMP. The both claim an invalid format.

The second tape capture from the wedding and the honeymoon both play fine. I overwrote the tape long ago because I had them downloaded already.

I'm a dead man...my wife is going to kill me. Is there a repair utility or some trick anyone knows to recover/repair the file?

Download and install a DV codec on your PC - such as MainConcept or Canopus...
