PLEASE HELP, Problem converting DivX to MPEG1

Hi All!

I am having a BIG headache trying to convert a DivX of Star Trek First Contact but the it has really odd audio.
TMPEG will accept the video part but comes up with an error if I point the audio to the DvX file.

I have tried converting the audio to a WAV using VirtualDub and other programs but the audio ends up stuttery.
Sorta like... image saying arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr but broken so it sounds like arrr rrrrr rrrrr rrrrr.

I have installed the Kristal codec, the Nimo codec pack and the audiofilter zip but nothing has helped.

The DivX on its own plays fine but I really want to encode it to a VCD.

If any can help with this I would be eternally grateful.

What is the audio format of the DivX-compressed .AVI file?

If you don't know, from within Explorer rightclick on the filename, select "Properties", click on the 'Details" tab.

Alternatively, try to load it into VirtualDub. From the "File" dropdown menu, selct "File information".
