    PlayStation 2 and VCDs

I just want to know if the Play Station 2 will play VCDs. I have tried making a VCD with Nero and playing it on my PS2 but it doesn't work. I don't know if I did something wrong or whats up with it. I also want to know if a VCD will play on a stand alone DVD Player. Thanks

PS2 isn't able to play VCD's. You can only play "real" DVD Films. I still hope that there will be a possibility in the future to Play (S)VCD's maybe a Software Player...
Concerning Standalone Players: nearly every(newer) player can play VCD's.

There is a suposed solution. PS2 uses a format called .str to play videos. There is a prgram called avi2str. Which encodes to str format. Then there is a str player called psxplay and psmplay you can install in your PS2 to play these videos. But I havn't been able to get enough info about it. I downloaded the programs from:
