    VirtualDubMod, audio cutting out

I had a .avi file in VirtualDubMod and i sliced it into 2 halfs, when i listended to the first sliced part it was perfect until about half way through it and the audio cut out and was like that the rest of the way through the movie, i have not yet checked the 2nd part. Anyone know what the problem is?

      A) Have you successfully played the ORIGINAL (unsplit) .AVI all the way through from beginning to end?

      B)
      1) Load the .AVI into the most recent version of VirtualDubMOD (Different than VirtualDub)

      2) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"

      3) Select "Check for errors"

      4) Select "Mask bad frames"

      5) Save with a new filename

(Answer "NO" to the information message that you've posted generated by VirtualDubMOD)

Converting .AVIs with VBR-MP3 Audio for use with TMPGEnc

Using VirtualDubMOD to Convert "VBR" .MP3 to Uncompressed .WAV

          1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDubMOD (a different program than the standard VirtualDub)

          2) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Direct Stream Copy"

          3) From the "Streams" dropdown menu, select "Stream List" - and rightclick on the audio stream, then select "Full Processing Mode" - then click on "OK"

          4) From the "File" dropdown menu, save .AVI with a new filename

You still haven't responded to my earlier question, to wit:

"Also what menu is "3) and 4)" in?"

"Video" dropdown menu - "Scan videostream for errors"

Done that and in the bottom caption it said "0 frames masked (0 frames bad, 0 frames good but undecodable)"

                    What next?
As always setarip, thanks for the reply.

Try and run your AVI file in a utility called: AviFiXP. You can download it from here:

Download AviFiXP, a software capable of fixing damaged AVI files

I downloaded it and installed it. Did you want me to open the split .avi in and check for errors? Well i did that anyways, and i got this after it scanned it: Processing file "movie1.avi"
                          Checking errors...
Done. Found 0 errors, 52387 video frames, 26207 audio samples

If i scanned the wrong thing please post. What now?

I would scan the "Original" AVI file (unsplit). There should be an option to "Rebuild" or "Repair" or something similar.
