Another thing once ive rebuilt it with AviFiXP it distorts the movie it goes that way were it looks like the people are smudged. I don't know the correct term, that's what happenes when i fast foward it. What's wrong with it?

Did you "Split" the AVI again, or is this happening with the uncut version?

Is it your intention to make a DVD out of this file, or just for viewing on your computer? You could bring the rebuilt AVI into "TMPGEnc" (different from TMPGEnc DVD Author) and convert it to an mpeg file, and then use the "Merge and Cut" feature of the program to split it.

As I indicated in my last post, use TMPGEnc's "Merge and Cut" feature. ("File" > "Mpeg Tools" and click on the merge and cut tab). Also, TMPGEnc has a wizard template for making a VCD, so the process should be quite easy. Do the merge and cut process "After" you have converted to mpeg.

I got "Invalid pointer operation" - I get that error a lot with TMPGEnc.

Is the audio in the original AVI Ac3?

Load the original (or the rebuilt one) into VirtualDubMod. Go to "File" > "File Information" and post what you see under the "Audio" section of the dialog box.

You're going around in circles with "Sco0t" - Read the earlier postings in this thread and you'll note that it has already been determined that the audio was originally "VBR" .MP3 - and that "Sco0t" has already been instructed to post the "File Information"...
