avi video not playing but have codecs

Hi there, i have an avi file that i am having trouble playing properly.

When played in WM Player 9 or Real Player it starts fine for the opening credit of the production company of the TV show but then the video freezes and the audio carries on playing.

I have ran it through G-Spot and i have all the correct codecs.

    Can anyone help?

    1) Load the .AVI file (DivX-compressed or otherwise) into the most recent version of either VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod

    2) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"

    3) Select "Check for errors"

    4) Select "Mask bad frames"

    5) Save with a new filename

The mask bad frames option is there but not available to select.
Can only scan without choosing the other 3 options there. ie the show, mask and delete bad frames cannot be highlighted.

Any ideas? Have just discovered another file the same problem and again have tried your advice but same outcome.

"show, mask and delete bad frames cannot be highlighted."

Are they available AFTER you've "Scanned for bad frames"? If not, it means that no bad frames have been detected...

no they are not available afterwards.
Have you any idea what else could be the problem??
