    Windows XP

    Does anyone no if there is going to be a DVX code for Windows Media Player for Windows XP? If not am going to say the hell with XP and get Windows ME back!

    I believe that if you install the older Windows Media Player v.6.4, you'll find that "life is good". You should be able to locate it on your installation disk (Mplayer2.exe). If not, it should be downloadable from Microsoft's site and others.

      if ya dont like win xp dont go onto me me is the worst ya go to win98se there is also win2000 but that is more or less winxp but no prity colours and icons

        I dount that M$ is ever going to incorporate the DivX3.11 codec into their OS product lines. It's a hack of their own codec anyway. As for the DivX4, who knows?

        As Setarip pointed out, WMP6.4 is still a better option than the newer versions, especially for slower machines. You should be able to find it (assuming you're running a MS OS) in x:\program files/Windows Media Player folder, under the file name mplayer2.exe. Unlike the newer versions of WMP, 6.4 allows you to change the filter settings of the DivX codec for playback.
