OGM means that it contains an Ogg Vorbis audio stream (you probably don't have installed ogg codecs). Vorbis cannot be handled by AVI container. If you really want to get an AVI you will have to transcode ogg to mp3 - what is very lossy.
I would recommend to install Tobias'oggDS filters and your OGM will shine in most common players.

If you really want to convert you OGM to AVI, try this link: http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?link=190
but don't choose the MP3-filter, that won't work.

The graph could not change state

The sample start time is after the sample end time. (Return code: 0x80040228)

oh plus i have a few more questions....

i used virtual dub mod to rip the video and audio from an ogm file the end result was these 2 files: an .avi(with no sound) and an .ogg file how do i run these to files together so i have an .avi with sound?

            and a second question....

how do i make an ogm into an image i can burn or eumlate

            thanks for your replies

Ok, if you want an AVI with sound, just follow the instructions on this page: http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?link=190

but instead of the MPEG Layer 3-filter, use either DV audio or Windows Media Audio V2. That should work and you shouldn't get an error message from GraphEdit.

For creating images that you can burn on for example a DVD, I use Ulead DVD MovieFactory. Don't know where you can get that, but it works.

Hope this helps, it may take some experimenting....

acid4575, you have created a file with XviD video and DivX audio - aren't they fighting each other?

hehe *wonders who would win* well i used GraphEdit so i guess/hope i can change a few things around and change the video format to a divx the reason i used Xvid is becuase that was what the .ogm file was already formated into in other words.... you needed to have the Xvid codec and the Ogg DirectShow Filter just to play it
