How do I install a DVD drive into a laptop?

Hi,

I just bought a dvd drive to install into my Compaq laptop. I want to remove the cd-drive and replace it wih my dvd drive. Does any one know the procedure how to do this? Also do I need any software to play dvds and if so what is some good software to get?

1) Was it made SPECIFICALLY for internal installation for your brand/model of laptop?

2) Didn't it come with an instruction sheet?

no, I got it off ebay, contacted compaq and they gave me instructions, now I just need a good dvd decoder
