Slim DVD Cases - Good or Bad?

I bought a few slim black DVD cases and I love 'em because they take up less space than the standard size cases. Now it seems to me that they may not be good for preserving the integrity of the DVD.

Does anyone know if these cases are safe for storage?

This depends on what you store in that DVD cases.
sorry setarip... I am a nerd.

storage cases must satisfy several features.

1.they must be smooth in surface so that no damage will be done
      to the DVD.
      2. most important (if youhave DVDr´s selfrecorded)
is that the case blocks any light . do not use transparent
cases for long time storage of recorded DVDs.

        cases

I have a couple sitting on my desk right here, first ones I've come across. definitely like the space saving advantage. They seem to work ok.
