add subtitle to DVD

I was wondering if i can add .srt subtitles to a DVDr?

I dled some DVD and it does not contain english subtitle, so i dled the divx subtitle, but the format is in .srt

how would i add this sub into DVD?

if it's just the movie, what format is it (mpg, m2v+wav/ac3, dvd strudture/vob's)?

you can use a combination of vobedit, infoedit/rejing, srt2sup, supremap to create a new dvd structure with subtitles.
